TDM / PRI TO SIP (IP BASED PBX)

Jump to solution

An interesting scenario has come about where one of my customers wants to go virtual and get the Avaya ip office virtualized server edition installed in his VMWare environment and run his entire network as an all ip based network.  Thing is is he does not want to do any direct sip over the internet and instead wants to use both of his existing legacy ISDN PRI circuits bring them into the Adtran 908e and then from Adtran do sip to the Avaya Server edition phone system.

Scenario would be as such

PSTN----2PRIS (LUCENT 5E TELCO)----> ADTRAN 908E--->SIPTRUNKS (40+ OF THEM) ----> SIP READY AVAYA IP OFFICE SERVER EDITION VIRTUALIZED (ETHERNET)

I have done plenty of the reversal.. simple.  but in this case we are keeping pri and converting that to sip instead

any thoughts?

Thanks

This will work fine.

Just set the PRI to user mode.

Also make sure the firmware is R10.9.4

I had some issues with caller id name in previous versions.
