My customer has echo and low volume problems tried changing the Transmit gain and also Receiver Gain but it dint work.
Please help me resolve this issue
Does the person connected to the TA908e hear echo, or does the remote person hear it? Echo us generally an impedance problem at the other end. If the FXS port will be used solely for voice, disable modem-passthrough and enable echo-suppression.
I would also recommend that you try a different handset and double-check your wiring.
Under the fxs interface the transmit and receive should be separated by 3 DB otherwise feedback and or echo can happen.
interface fxs 0/1
rx-gain +0.0
tx-gain -3.0
no shutdown
Also under the voice user you can enable VAD and PLC this will also help especially were you may have bandwidth constraints. Also setting your frame packetization to 30 can also help. Echo cancellation can also be enabled.
voice user xxxxxx
connect fxs 0/1
plc
rtp frame-packetization 30
echo-cancellation
I tried doing this on the voice user as you suggested but the echo-cancellation command is not showing up in the configuration.
Yes it is the remote person whom they transfer calls to his cellphone.
Would do the other disable modem-pass through and enable echo-suppression and check.
If that doesn't work then will change the device or check the cabling.
What Gen of 908 and what firmware are you running on the 908?
Since this is a Transfer this sia Voice USer setting and not a FXS port setting.
Yes. It is on our
ADTRAN, Inc. OS version R10.5.2.E
Boot ROM version 14.05.00.SA
Platform: Total Access 908e (2nd Gen), part number 4242908L1
Serial number CFG1106281
echo-cancellation is available under the voice user configuration.
I tried to make a test call but still could hear the echo either way- the caller hears it or the one who receives it.
I tried changing the FXO interface receiver gain to -3 db from 0 db (which is default), though it dint work.
In this order:
Try a different analog phone.
Check the wiring for bridges or shorts.
Try a different FXS port.
