Best Solution for P2P T1 between two PBX's

Jump to solution

I have a customer who currently does a drop and insert on a P2P T1 - pulling off four channels for voice and passing these to TDM PBX on each end. We are using Netwanta 3430's to accomplish this.   He is going to a Routed VLAN on a fiber GPON network and wants to eliminate the physical P2P.

We will continue using the 3430s and utilize the VPN functionality of these for encryption of data between these points.

Can I use a 904 at both ends, on the private network behind the 3430's across the VPN Tunnels to recreate this P2P and continue to provide a P2P between the two PBXs?

Yes the TotalAccess 904 will work fine for this.

Each side will convert TDM to VoIP passing the voice traffic over the VPN.

The main difference is that now you will have a full 23 channels instead of four.

Please post if you have any config questions.

I have submitted another discussion needing some support on this.  I have some configs. I could forward you.  I am able to see the PRI on each side come up but the D-channels don't come up and I don't see any SIP registrations.

Not sure that the configs I am using are right for this type of application.
