"Remote" Adtran Softphone work over Client desktop VPN connection?

Have a user needing to work from a remote site for a period of time, and they would like to use the ADTRAN softphone from there laptop via the Client VPN connection back to the home network.

How is this setup similar or different than the "Simple Remote Phones" setup document or there an other document that I am missing?

Jim,

Simple remote phones assumes no VPN and voice (RTP) is sent in the clear (non-Secure). When using a Softphone with VPN Client (Secure VoIP), then the Simple Remote Phone configuration would no longer apply. For this application (assuming 7100 PBX at host), see configuration guides below:
