Is there an easier way to transfer a call directly to someone's mailbox on a 7100, other than transferring the call to (default) extension 8504 and entering a mailbox.
Possibly a SPRE code ? I thought there ws but cannot remember.
Hello,
This depends on what firmware you are running in your NV7100. In R10.2 the *86 spree code was added
*86xxxx Send User Directly to Voicemail
If you are using a release prior to this, then you will have to dial 8504. Another option is to set up a speed dial on tha phone of 8504, so just press the soft phone button and then you would just have to dial that users extension.
Hope that helps.
If you want to download the firmware for the 7100 you can go here: NetVanta 7100

Matt,
Using the VVX400 phones there is a "SendVM" option under the dynamic keys after pressing "more" x2. Is there a way to move this button to the main display? I would like to have as few key presses as possible to transfer the caller straight to VM.
Thanks,
Brady
- Sorry for the late reply. There does not appear to be a clean cut way to change the order of these soft keys. One option would be for the person to use the existing transfer softkey on that screen by default, and then enter the target extension with *86 in front. For example if someone called, I answered, and I wanted to send them to extension 2040's voicemail, I would hit the transfer softkey, then enter *862040, and then hit the transfer softkey again. One thing to watch out for is if the target extension's voicemail greeting is very short, the person being transferred may miss the greeting due to the delay introduced with this type of call flow.
Thanks,
Matt
