Hi We have Netvanta 7100 in our office. We are using Sip trunk able to call out but cannot call in.
Below is the error messages.

I have already uploaded config files, sip stack messages, voice verbose files in to your ftp server.
The file name is called Request-uri host is not local unable to proxy incoming message.rar
Clarence,
It looks like you are doing sip trunking for PSTN access from the 7100 sitting behind a 3rd party router.
When doing SIP Trunking to a provider, you have to do one of the following:
1. Put the 7100 on the edge with a Public IP and act as the firewall/router
2. Use a SIP Aware Firewall/Router as your edge device. Supported ones are ADTRAN Routers running the VFP (Voice Feature Pack) firmware which supports the SBC (Session Border Controller) feature. Another supported 3rd party product is the Ingate Siperator. Please call our Pre-Sales Application Engineering Team for supported ADTRAN Routers at 888-423-8726 or email them at applications.engineer@adtran.com<mailto:applications.engineer@adtran.com>. They are a free service.
What is happening is your router is not NATing the SIP information which resides at Layer 7. Your firewall is only NATing the Layer 3/4 source/Destination IP and not the SIP information. You can verify this by running wireshark and doing a packet capture.

Do a show ip interface brief
And verify if you have an IP that matches what is being sent to you:
65xxxxxxxx@103.11.49.63:3340

Hi Mark,
I was helping Mohd to resolve this issue.
Yes, you are right. The IP captured from the debug sip cldu and show interface didn't match. In fact, due to the customer requirement, the NV7100 eth0/0 was connected to the LAN port of another router.
The sip cldu showed the public IP address of the router's WAN IP while the NV7100's WAN IP was showing the private IP issued by the DHCP server.
Is there a way to resolve this? What configuration do we need to add into the router and NV7100?
What is the proper NV7100 port forwarding commands/setting to use and which IP address do we need to map?
For your info, we were able to call in the NV7100 if we connected it directly to the public internet...
Please kindly advise soonest..
Regards
Clarence

Hi Mark,
I thank you for the detailed explanation. We appreciated your efforts as we are not familiar with SIP trunking protocol.
One more thing I am quite curious to find out as follow. During our troubleshooting, we had used a softphone running in a PC in the same environment instead of the NV7100 to connect to our SIP trunk provider and we were able to call inbound and outbound without any restriction. I guessed the SIP server and softphone worked well as the softphone omitted certain SIP information verification by the NV7100.
I am afraid our customer may not approve the new purchase of SIP Aware Firewall/Router and below are my queries:-
1. Do you know what are the SIP information unique to NV7100 which are over and above any softphone eg. Xlite softphone?
2. Could we disable/nullify all these unique parameters in NV7100 to make it work like a softphone? What are the commands involved?
Many thanks and best regards
Clarence
Question for you, were you able to do blind and assisted transfers and call forwarding with the softphone? If not, I am interested to know if that works without any audio issues.
The 7100 is configured to ignore any sip invites that is not destined to a IP address on the system. I am not aware of a work around for that. I am not sure if other SIP PBXs could do a work around for that also. That is normal operation.
What is preventing the user form putting the 7100 on the edge with a public IP?

I am using an erx and have an adtran netvanta 6240 behind it for the purpose of SIP to PRI.
I am running into an issue where SIP calls are being rejected due to showing the local destination IP instead of the anticipated public ip (The adtran does not know the public IP)
Rx: UDP src=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5060 dst=192.168.2.250 :5037
SIP.CLDU ERROR! Request-URI host is not local, unable to proxy incoming message to xxxxxxxxxx@xxxx.ddns.net:5037
SIP.CLDU ERROR! Failed to get CLDU Interface, (0x48f7778)
Is there any way to make this work without a secondary public IP?
Any NAT or forwarding etc that can be done on the router?
