Does the Netvanta 3448 have what it takes to upgrade the internet pipe?

I own a 3448 and we have a 10 Meg Internet Pipe. We are considering upgrading to a 100 meg fiber internet connection that is scalable to 10 Gigs. Will the 3448 scale with us? WE also have 3 VPNs and will likely grow to 10 in the next year or two. Will I overload it? Or is it built to handle this much traffic?

@travisrigby - The 3448 comes with 8 10/100 Mbps switchports and 2 10/100 Mbps ethernet ports. It will not be able to route the full 100 Mbps of your fiber connection and definitely will not be able to scale up to 10 Gbps. However, the 3448 will handle the 10 VPN tunnels you plan on increasing to.

If you are unsure which product to choose, it is recommended you consult with your ADTRAN reseller or ADTRAN's EN Applications Engineering department for assistance with product selection.

The throughput you’ll see on any router is going to vary by the tasks you’re going to need it to perform – firewall policies, QoS settings, the number of VPN tunnels, and other parameters.  I’d recommend talking to one of ADTRAN’s Applications Engineers who will be able to indicate what throughput you should expect based on your specific requirements.  You can reach ADTRAN Applications Engineering by calling 888-423-8726 or sending an email to application.engineering@adtran.com.
