Question about the track option: Does it merely make the DHCP-provided default-route dependent upon the track? The description could be taken to mean that the DHCP client itself will not make a request if the track fails.
I'm working with on a project where an Internet connection with DHCP should be the preferred path; a low-bandwidth WAN link to the main office should be a backup path. We want to make sure we understand this behavior.
Thanks!
Chris
Chris:
I branched this to a new post. The ip address dhcp track <name> command is an optional command that attaches a network monitoring track to the DHCP client. The DHCP gateway route for this client will only reside in the route table while the track is in the pass state. This information can be found in the Configuring Network Monitor in AOS guide, as well as the AOS Version R11.4 Command Reference Guide
I hope that answers your question, but please do not hesitate to reply to this post if you have any additional questions.

Exactly what we needed--thanks!
