Good day,
I've gotten hold of four new/old-stock BSAP 3040 access points, and would like to use them in my network. I was able to register their serial numbers to my account, no problem.
However, when I try to retrieve the license file for vWLAN (hosted on-site, my own server), using those serials, I get this error from the portal:
"This Serial Number Has Not Been Previously Licensed. Please Provide an Activation Key."
Are the activation keys a for-purchase item, or do I just need to make a specific request to Adtran?
Inquiring minds, etc. Let me know, please.
Thanks.
Bruce-
When using an Adtran AP on a premise based vWLAN controller you will need a perpetual license for the AP. This is a one time purchase for the license. Technically what you receive is an activation code for the license. You then use that activation code in conjunction with the serial number of the AP to create the license that you then upload to vWLAN. Once the license is generated, it cannot be transfered to another AP.
The part number for the license is: 1951901G1
Details for how to use the activation key with the serial number are detailed in the below link.

Thanks, Brad! That clears things up nicely. Now I just have to find a reseller...
