924e & 908e voice users losing registration

I have a couple 924e and 908e that have sporadic sip voice users that will lose their ability to send or receive calls. They appear as though they are registered in the GUI, but act as though they are not. The fix is easy - delete the voice user and add it back in, but it keeps happening. Just wondering if anybody had any thoughts or experiences with this issue.

Re: 924e & 908e voice users losing registration

How is the unit configured? Are the users registered directly to the TA900 or is it a transparent proxy to a remote registrar? It sounds as if you are using the TA900 as the registrar in you have SIP voice users configured. Can you post configurations with passwords redacted?

Does restarting the SIP endpoint restore the registration?

What is the result of "show sip user-registration" during the working and failed states?

Re: 924e & 908e voice users losing registration

Thank you for the quick reply. I believe that that your first couple of questions can be answered in my configs. When I run the "show sip user-registration" command I get "There are currently no phone registered" even though they are registered and working at this time. What we are using our Adtrans for is converting voip from our Toshiba IPedge into sip which we can use on our analog devices such as fax machines.

Re: 924e & 908e voice users losing registration

Hello Jake,

The registration for voice users with the sip-identities will show up with this command:

show sip trunk-registration

These identities are registered to the sip-server, and the command above will show what is registered, the expires time, and other useful information.  I have a suggestion for you, but first I would like to know the firmware version running on the ADTRAN.  Since the IP Edge and ADTRAN are likely on the same LAN segment, there should never be an issue with registration.  Once the firmware version is validated and/or is up to date, I'd like to see a debug and some show outputs to verify what is going on.

Thanks,

Geoff
