Is there away to set a Voice Trunk up where the remote site has to authenicate to the 4430. The remote PBX in question requires a Username and Password for all connections. Also since it has a Dynamic Address I would prefer authenication over Trust-Domains. I know how to do it on a voice user level but I would prefer to do it at the trunk level.

John:
Using the NetVanta 4430 with SBC code as a registrar (which is what would be needed based on your description) is not a supported application. There are cases where a SIP user account is supported, as you mentioned, specifically for remote phones using media anchoring in the SBC feature pack. However, the NetVanta 4430 with SBC is not designed or tested to be a registrar to provide authentication for SIP trunks.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for asking this question in the Support Community. I do not think this application is supported, but I will investigate further, and let you know by close of business tomorrow. Please, let me know if you have any additional questions or information before then.

Levi,
Thanks for checking. I have expercience with other SBCs and am trying to test all the possible scenarios on our new 4430. I am trying to determine exactly where and how I can use the Adtran SBC over some of the other options. I prefer the support I get from Adtran over the other vendors so I deploy Adtran whenever possible.
