Identifying whether or not I have Enhanced Feature Pack

Jump to solution

I purchased a 3430 NetVanta Router w/Enhanced Feature Pack (p/n 4200820E2).  When I received it, the box clearly states the correct p/n.  However, when my phone system provider asked me to double check that I have the Enhanced Feature Pack, I noticed the p/n on the unit is 1202820G1, which shows up as a 3430 Netvanta Router (2ndG) when I do a lookup.  I know the Enhanced Feature pack is a software upgrade for units that are not bundled with it.  Could it be that the unit has been upgraded with Enhanced Feature Pack?  How can I tell.  I am not sure what I am looking for.

Thank you for asking this question in the Support Community.  Everything you have done is correct.  The 4200820E2 part number is the bundled number which includes the software and hardware.  The 1202820G1 is the actual hardware part number of the unit.  To verify the unit has the Enhanced Feature Pack (EFP) loaded, you will have to login.  You can do this via the web interface (GUI) or the command line (CLI).

From the GUI the System Summary page will show the "Firmware Version."  If the firmware version ends in "E" then the unit has the EFP loaded.  If it does not end in "E," then it is the standard feature pack (SFP).

From the CLI issue the command show version.  Then the first line will show the firmware version.  If it ends in "E" then the unit has the EFP loaded.

ROUTER-NAME# show version

ADTRAN, Inc. OS version 18.03.01.00.E

I hope that makes sense, but please do not hesitate to reply if you have any additional questions.

I received the answer from Adtran directly.  If the firmware version has an "E" at the end (i.e. 18.02.01.00.E), then it has enhanced feature pack installed.  Mine does, so I do.
