Identifying 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation NetVanta 3200/3205 Units
There are currently 3 different generations of the NetVanta 3200 and 3205. The part number can be used to help identify which generation a particular unit is.
Part Number Sticker on Bottom of Unit
Look at the part number (P/N) located on the bottom of the unit under the ADTRAN logo as shown in the picture below. Reference the part number listed here with the table below in the “Identifying the Generation” section to determine the generation of a given NetVanta 3200 or 3205.
Part Number from the “show version” Command
Issuing the show version command from a console or telnet session to the CLI of the unit will also display the part number.
Identifying the Generation
Generally speaking the 4th digit in the part number will dictate the generation of a given ADTRAN product.
For example:
If the part number begins with 1200860 it is a 1st generation NetVanta 3200.
If the part number begins with 1202860 it is a 2nd generation NetVanta 3200.
If the part number begins with 1203860 it is a 3rd generation NetVanta 3200
The table below lists the part numbers for the different generations of NetVanta 3200 and 3205 products.
