I've just received my first two NetVanta 1560s and am learning about ASE and in fact advanced switching generally. What would be really great is if there were an ASE web interface (and/or CLI) I could run *without being connected* to any actual switch. That way I could try various configurations and potentially save configuration files that I could later load onto an actual device when I connect to it. Is there such a thing, or how close of some software is there that would let me experiment with ASE offline?
Just an aside, I work with a theatrical lighting console that has exactly this kind of application available - I can lay out a stage and create all the cues for a show completely within my PC, then load it onto the device and run it. Very helpful.
