I have an Atlas 550 in the office that I want to use to test PRI connections and check dial tone on amphenol cable connections before deploying them to customer locations. I had this setup before but recently had to change it so that I can use it for PRI syslog purposes at a customers site who was having PRI issues.
I want to set up Network 1 to simulate a loop start PRI and Network 2 to simulate a Tandem E&M wink PRI so that I can plug it into an Adtran TA616, for example, on the network port and have a simulated circuit.
I remember using RBS but can't quite remember how to set it up.
Please point out a doc. or provide detailed instructions if possible.

To clarify, Both RBS and PRI are T1s. An RBS T1 uses Channel Associated Signaling (CAS) and a PRI uses D-Channel signaling. So you do not want to configure a PRI, you are correct in that you need to configure the ATLAS T1 interface with RBS signaling (not PRI) in order to use it with the TA616.
The RBS T1 should be configured under the DIAL PLAN in the USER TERM in order for the ATLAS to provide the dial tone to the end equipment. You can use our "PRI to RBS" configuration guide (https://supportforums.adtran.com/docs/DOC-1398) and simply ignore the PRI configuration. The RBS configuration starts on page 4 of this guide. So you should end up with 2 entries in the USER TERM, one for the N1 module and the other for the N2 module. Both will be RBS, and I'm assuming each will have unique IN#ACCEPT lists. The IFCE CONFIG is where you specify the number of channels on the T1 to use, and the signaling method. (In your case it is E&M Wink and Loop Start.) The RBS section of that guide should walk you through the setup.

Thanks for the quick info. One thing I’m not seeing is where I give each DSO a unique number. I configured both N1 and N2 as PRI with RBS signaling. I have dial tone through the Adtran TA616. I thought there was an area where I can give each DSO channel a unique 4 digit number so that I can call each channel directly. Any ideas on where I can find this field?

To give each DS0 a unique number (IN#ACCEPT) you will have to have a separate USER TERM entry for each DS0. So the first entry will have the FIRST DS0=1 and the NUMBER OF DS0s will also be "1", and then the next entry will be the same SLOT/PORT, but the FIRST DS0=2. So each module will have 24 entries in the USER TERM if you are configuring all 24 channels of the T1.

Sorry. One more thing…I am having to dial # to complete the call to one of the DSOs and when I pickup the call on the called DSO I hear some DTMF tones right away. Seems like it’s ok after that but how do I choose to just dial the number to complete the call rather than having to press # after my number? And why am I hearing DTMF tone when I first answer?

With an RBS T1 (as well as for FXS, and BRI) the ATLAS is looking for certain patterns to know when you have finished dialing your number. If what you dialed does not match any of these patterns then there is a delay for as long as the "End of Number Timeout" is set for (16 seconds is the default) or until it receives a "#". You can modify the patterns and add new patterns under DIAL PLAN, in the GLOBAL PARAM, under the NUMBER COMPLETE TEMPLATE. So you can add a digit pattern to the NUMBER COMPLETE TEMPLATE to match what you are dialing.
Hearing the DTMF tones is configured under the DIAL PLAN in your USER TERM, under the IFCE CONFIG. The option for DIRECT INWARD DIALING, when ENABLED outpulses the DID digits so that an end device (PBX, or Fax Server, etc.) can receive the digits to route the call further. If you DISABLE Direct Inward Dialing it will not transmit the DID digits.
